Memoir Writing Contest Celebrates Summer’s Bountiful Gardens

July brings two memoir writing contests — one featuring stories of a pet in your life, along with photos, of course — and our just announced one featuring stories, recipes, and photos of summer’s abundance of fruits and vegetables. Our grandparents and great grandparents grew much of their own food. Today, many of us are returning to the theme of “eat local” both for practical reasons and our concern for the environment. Share your stories in either or both contests. We’ll publish the award-winning stories on this website and the first place winner in each category will receive a prize.
