These beautiful silk Writer’s Journals are made in Thailand to our specifications, featuring silk dyed and woven for us. Our friend, Erin, lived in California for many years. Then she decided to fulfill her lifelong dream of living abroad. She eventually decided on Thailand, residing now in the Northern city of Chiang Mai, home of Thailand’s handcraft community.

Erin visited the women you see in these pictures. She chose colors and patterns designed to bring beauty and pleasure to us each time we reach for the journal to write about our life. Making silk from nurturing the silk worms, to harvesting the cocoons, to unrolling the cocoon’s silk thread, to dying the silk, to weaving is a lengthy process that requires patience – much the way that writing a memoir is a lengthy process.

The result of our memoir writing is as beautiful and special as these journals. Using a special Writer’s Journal is one way to honor our storytelling experience.

OUR Writer’s Journal comes with a standard composition book that is easily replaced at any office supply store. Just slip out your completed journal and slip in a new one. This way you can enjoy using your Thai silk cover over and over.

We found that our Thai silk Writer’s Journals were so lovely that we couldn’t resist taking some of the fabric and turning it into these special bookmarks.

These beautiful silk bookmarks are a pleasure to see, touch, and use. When the weavers created patterns for us, we left the bookmarks unadorned so that you can appreciate the artisanship of the Thai women.

We offer gorgeous, hand-painted silk butterfly pillows to help your imagination take flight. Tuck one behind your back while you work on your memoir.

Put one in a chair across the room to remind you that “if nothing ever changed, there’d be no butterflies.” We’ve even put a bit of lavender and roses inside to bring you joy and success.

These pillows are designed and made for us by Troye who began painting on silk 11 years ago. We think you’ll like her philosophy as much as we know you’ll love her pillows. She says, “I believe art is not only a form of self-expression, it’s an invitation for the viewer to participate in a conversation. I’m thrilled to think of each viewer creating new meaning where I have left off.” Similarly, memoirists write for themselves but anticipate the impact on a reader who may perceive new meaning in her own life experiences.
