Connection with Memoir Writers
One of the joys of this blog on memoir writing is that I have the opportunity to connect with many women who want to explore, understand, and document their lives through writing. Recently, one of the women I’ve gotten to know sent me an email. She explained that she was interviewed and there was now a YouTube posting. I’m delighted to share the video with you.
The author, Jorgelina Zeoli, has written four memoirs about childhood trauma and loss, about family dysfunction, and about survival and healing.
And while the content of the interview is the focus, I thought you might also consider Jorgelina’s book marketing. As I mention elsewhere, we need to go outside our comfort zone to reach others with our life stories. As you will note in the interview, conducted by John Ronan on his program called The Writer’s Block, Jorgelina sent him a copy of one of her books and suggested she would make an interesting interviewee. Reaching out may have been hard to do, but the result is clear. She was interviewed.
But the marketing doesn’t end there. She continues by notifying blogs like WomensMemoirs about the interview and asking if the video can be shared.
