When you’re new to journal writing, sometimes it’s hard to know what to write about. You come to the page eager to start, but then find yourself sitting and staring at a blank page. You might be thinking, “What do I have to write about?” or “There’s nothing going on in my life.” Thoughts like these and other forms of self-criticism can make you feel stuck.
Back in March of 2010, I wrote about getting stuck and suggested some ways of getting unstuck and moving forward. These include:
