Post #102 – Memoir Writing – Kendra Bonnett and Matilda Butler
Change and Memoir Writing
If you feel like I do, then it seems like it is next to impossible to get comfortable with a new technology or piece of software or app because it changes just when you are getting used to it. I’ve spent months trying to learn about ibooks and ebooks. Well, of course, I understand about them but getting the technology to behave the way it is supposed to is quite a challenge.
The same is true with memoir writing. Just as soon as you think you’ve got your arms around the field of memoir it changes. And this change is the focus of the audio below.
Linda Joy Myers, founder and president of the National Association of Memoir Writers, interviewed me recently on exactly this topic for her teleseminar on: Memoir in the New Millennium. We talked about what is changing and what should we, as memoir writers, be doing about all these changes to take advantage of them.
I called my discussion:
Walls Come Tumbling Down: Impact of Change on Publishing, Marketing, and Writing
You probably remember the lyrics that inspired my title,
Joshua fought the battle of Jericho,
Jericho, Jericho
Joshua fought the battle of Jericho,
And the walls came tumbling down.
We don’t want changes in memoir, in publishing, and in marketing to take us off the road to successful memoir writing. I hope the discussion in this audio will help you understand more about the changes and learn how to take it all in stride.
