Memoir Contest Winners Announced

Welcome to the announcement of winners — winners of our third memoir writing contest for 2011. Kendra and I offer our thanks to the large number of women who submitted their memoir contest entries by March 31. We love the diversity and creativity of well-written memories of Aprils past.

For this contest, we created two categories — April Memories and April Birthdays. Then came the hard part — choosing our winners. After reading and re-reading entries, Kendra and I are pleased to present our list of winners and to share these marvelous and thoughtful stories with you. Today we are publishing four First Place prize-winning stories. We are publishing a three-way tie for First Place in April Memories category and the one First Place winner in the April Birthdays category.

Note: If you did not win this month, we urge you to enter one of our future contests. There are numerous topics in the coming contests. For the complete list, go to: http://WomensMemoirs.com/contests.

Below is the complete list of winners. The four First Place winning stories will appear throughout the day. One this morning at 10 am, one at noon, one at 2 pm, and the last this evening at 4 pm (all PDT). We hope you’ll come back and read all four. The Honorable Mentions will be published beginning in October.
