Post #17 – Women’s Memoirs, News – Matilda Butler and Kendra Bonnett
On Thursday, Kendra and I had a wonderful conversation with Sue William Silverman, award-winning author of Because I Remember Terror, Father, I Remember You and her newer memoir Love Sick: One Woman’s Journey Through Sexual Addiction as well as her book on memoir writing True Confessions: A Writer’s Guide to Memoir.
We had some great questions from our readers and we thank you for sparking this dynamic interview. We will post the audio of the interview on Monday October 26. This is just a quick heads-up for you. Sue’s answers to the questions are so well thought out and provide many insights and suggestions that we wanted you to know about the audio now since it won’t be in the weekly digest until October 31. By then, you’re mind just might be on Halloween.
By the way, if you don’t know what you’ll wear on Halloween, we have a suggestion. As you know, Kendra and I are the co-authors of the award- winning collective memoir, Rosie’s Daughters: The “First Woman To” Generation Tells Its Story. When we started giving presentations, we thought it would be fun to wear a bandana just like Rosie the Riveter wore. We looked and looked and couldn’t find one. We finally decided to design our own based on a careful examination of what Rosie wore and have them made. Everyone loved them and we started selling Rosie’s bandana. Much to our surprise, they have become a big hit for Halloween.
So if you are answering the door for little Trick or Treaters or going to an adult Halloween party, you might want to consider being Rosie the Riveter. Our bandana turns a simple blue shirt and jeans/slacks/overalls into a quick and inexpensive costume. Click Here to learn more about the only authentic Rosie the Riveter bandana — it washes beautifully making it useful all year long — and it is made in the USA. We think Rosie would be pleased as we help to continue her legacy of strength, courage, and empowerment of women.
