My editor has just returned my memoir manuscript. Hooray. She really likes it and says it is in "ready to go" state. I want to get it out right away and so am going to self-publish. My question has to do with marketing. I know I will need to do a lot and would appreciate you sharing the one (or maybe two) marketing or PR efforts you have done that you think have been the most successful. I can hardly wait for your response.

Karen - I am writing my memoir and realizing that I should also be thinking about a publisher. I wonder if you would be willing to share your experiences with seeking a publishing company. I look forward to listening to your interview. ...Rose

Oh my gosh. I just finished reading your memoir. So powerful. I'm thinking about writing my memoir. I know that you kept journals and that they were a source of information for you. Did you use any other resource documents? I have never journaled and so will need to find family documents, perhaps old letters, etc. Any suggestions about how to do research for my memoir will help me. Thanks.

Looking back on your own process...in particular your efforts to first write your book by going back through your journals, what would you do differently now? That sounds like a particularly tedious and overwhelming task. Journals can be a rich resource but I wonder if it might just have been better to read them for background material than using them as raw material for the book. Could you now streamline the task?

I've read with interest your blog. I'm particularly taken with the advice you received from your editor regarding the Golden Thread. I'm wondering if you have a process or technique for divining such threads? I admire your persistence. Are you working on a second book or memoir?

Karen, this was very inspiring to read. I can't imagine how tough it would be to rewrite 700 very personal pages. You've had an amazing journey.
