Summer Memoir Writing Contest Winners Announced

memoir-writing-news, memoir, memoir contest winnersBy the time the deadline for our Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy contest arrived, we had a large number of contest entries. Hence the delay in announcing the winners.

Here’s the way we described the contest: Did you love summers when you were a child? Do you have a special story you’d like to share? Maybe there is a significant summer from your adult years — a particularly fun or happy or poignant or even sad summer. Write that story and submit it to our Summer Memoir Contest.

We were so impressed with the winning stories once we finished evaluating all of them that we decided to publish them in our first-ever ebook. It will be called: The Annotated Memoir: Family Stories and Ideas from Women’s Memoirs Writers, Volume 1. [This may change slightly as it is just the working title.]

A word about the concept.
We’re calling it The Annotated Memoir because we will include a brief statement about each story. We want to highlight what a reader might look for in the story. We believe that each of the ones we’ve chosen can help other writers get fresh ideas on what they might do with their own writing.

When will the ebook be ready?
That’s a fair question. We’ve already had some of the authors asking us. We can’t promise a date at this time. However, we’ll let you know as soon as it is available. At the present time, we plan on releasing it through Amazon for the Kindle and possibly through Smashwords for other e-readers. All of this is still unfolding.
