Post #35 – Women’s Memoirs, Author Conversations – Kendra Bonnett and Matilda Butler
Cozy in front of the fireplace
Join us while Kendra Bonnett and I have a brief conversation about a great way to make and keep your writing resolution for 2010. Learn about a technique that I used with my Saturday memoir writing workshop and try it yourself. See if it helps you establish and successfully pursue your biggest writing goal this year.
At the conclusion, Kendra and I realized that we are each emphasizing FOCUS for 2010. She started a series of Book Business blogs last week that all carry the theme of focus. My technique is also a way to bring FOCUS to your writing life.
Our conversation is brief, just about 5 minutes. We hope you listen.

Hi Karen: Ditto. The SCN Stories from the Heart Conference in Austin (Feb. 5-7) will be the gathering spot for women interested in life writing and memoir writing. As of last night, there were only 2 more spaces available for our pre-conference workshop. If you are aware of anyone interested, be sure to let them know to sign up as quickly as possible.
Also, did you read Kendra’s blog about abundance? We believe that when any one woman succeeds, we all succeed. Success might be — in simply undertaking the challenge to write — in writing a vignette, a chapter, or her complete memoir — in editing or getting her memoir edited — in getting the memoir printed (for family) or published (for the larger audience) — in getting her first comment from a family member or in selling her first copy — in successfully marketing her book — etc.
We want to share all successes and stories of struggles along the way. Therefore, we are asking our readers (like you Karen) to share their favorite blogs for writers — especially memoir writers, but other blogs that are helpful. We also want to know about blogs or websites for memoir readers.
Hint. Hint. Karen, we hope you’ll nominate your blog and any others that you find helpful. Then we’ll create a blogroll on our site to continually share with our readers.
Here’s the link to Kendra’s post where you and any of our readers can tell us about their blog or website as well as suggest other blogs that are helpful to memoir writers and memoir readers.
