Can I interest you in publishing or promoting my self published (LULU) book:

http://is.gd/f1mML

(already in print but seeking a better publisher)

Communication Breakdown (Living, Loving, Loss and Aspergers/Selective Mutism)?

It has a foreword by Donna Williams and was given rave reviews in the form of blurbs which appear on the backcover.
Here's what people are saying:

''Your way with words reminds me of my favorite modern author, Augustine Burroughs "Running with Scissors". Communication Breakdown? More than a beautiful story of love, loss and life, Kimberly’s superbly written memoir is in a sense, a call to action. As it effortlessly weaves words in patterns of deliciously deep inspiration, it also calls upon us to reflect upon our own challenges and breakdowns and to dream big. Indeed its title might have been Communication Breakthrough as the reader will undoubtedly relate and fall under the spell of Kimberly’s incredible gift to us - where we can see and feel life beyond the appearances of breakdowns. With each page turned, I held my breath and let tears flow. I am blessed and better for the read. Bravo Kimberly and your journey of living, loving, loss, Asperger’s and selective mutism - and now, triumph, indelible forever.'' ----Keri Bower, filmmaker, motivational speaker, advocate, author

''Brutally honest and beautifully written. Kimberly’s poetic prose bares
her world with candid, innocent openness. The issues she has coped with
would destroy most people yet despite her selective mutism and Asperger’s
Syndrome she comes through ‘embracing the perfection of imperfection’. As
you read, you will laugh and cry and feel humbled and privileged that you
have been given a glimpse into the life of an extraordinary woman.'' Kimberly:
It might not be my place to say this, and of course I respect any decision
you may make, however, I honestly feel that your standard of writing is
excellent and your style so unique that you would be able to get this
published easily in a main stream publishing house. It is a book that
must be read and I’m afraid that self publishing may restrict its
readership. I am sure that high profile publishers would be interested in work of this quality.

----Kathy Hoopmann, author of All Cats Have Aspergers Syndrome

''Upon reading Kim’s book I found myself involved in her story and journey, not only as an onlooker but also as a fellow traveler. Kim’s attention to detail, her own awareness of herself and that of others, is stunningly real and honest. There is no ‘beating about the bush’ here and no watering of stuff down to make it more palatable. The raw emotive connections, as one travels with Kim, are reminiscent of a bygone era of childhood realities, social niceties and dark memories most of us would like not to remember. I identify with so many of her likes and dislikes. These include her love, admiration and telepathic communication with those beloved cats and other animals, as well as her sensory discomforts of things that could not be touched. Kim’s story is as unique, old fashioned and as modern as sliced bread. It is one I feel the better for having read and one that will stay with me for a very long time. Thank you Kim for humbly sharing yourself with so many of us! ''---------- Dr. Wendy Lawson,PhD MAPS, researcher, psychologist, writer and poet

May I send you the hard copy book, for consideration, ? I think it really complements a feminine perspective on perseverance, resilience and pride.

Have you thought about your platform for marketing your book and developed a website where you can start building a following for your subject. You might want to follow some of our posts here in the Book Business section. http://womensmemoirs.com/category/memoir-writing-book-business/

Also, instead of spending all your effort trying to get an agent, you might want to identify some smaller, independent publishers that publish memoirs and then go to them directly.

I have a complete memoir but I'm having trouble getting an agent. I send out queries and get nowhere. I thought memoirs were waning but by your comments I see that's not the case. I know my memoir is well written and interesting but it seems the competition is brutal. I'm nt ready to give up and publish digitally yet. Any advice for me?

Being on this panel was one of the highlights of the conference. So nice to be together in person, sharing what we know and learning from each other. That's what it's all about, IMO. Connecting!

No problem Jenn although I'm not sure I answered about Facebook. If you want to promote on Facebook, create a Fan Page. Don't do it on your personal profile page. Kendra

Hi Karen: We had looked forward to meeting you and want you to know that you were missed. Helen, of course, put together a great panel. We'll manage to meet one of these months. We realize how much is on your plate right now. - Matilda
